Vinyl Institute Presents Lifetime Achievement Award to Vic De Zen
WASHINGTON, Nov. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Vinyl Institute (VI), the U.S. trade association representing manufacturers of vinyl, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), additives, and modifiers, presented Vic De Zen, chairman of Vision Extrusions Group Limited, the Vinyl Institute Lifetime Achievement Award at VI's 2019 annual conference, Vinyl360.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was established to recognize outstanding service to the vinyl industry over a person's career.
Mr. De Zen is known as a dynamic force in the vinyl industry in North America and beyond. He has worked in the plastics industry for more than four decades, grew his business from the ground up; arriving in Canada with $20 to his name, he has since built a $2 billion plastic conglomerate with over 10,000 employees worldwide in more than 40 countries. Mr. De Zen is dedicated to enhancing our industry's sustainability and continues to seek newer, better processes to convert recyclable products into raw materials to be used in new products. Additionally, his company has also mastered efficient logistics that have helped supply both Canadian and U.S. markets. And, just this year, his company started using commercial cargo drones to carry parts, tools, and repair equipment among manufacturing sites.
Besides his numerous contributions to the vinyl industry, Mr. De Zen is a steward of his community. In 2016, he provided a $10 million donation that will help build a hospital in his hometown, as well as generously donated enough money to construct a facility for programming and housing for people with developmental disabilities.
