Concorde Career Colleges Steps Up in Support of Student Veterans

The Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS) and its Veterans Education Project (VEP) is partnering with Concorde Career Colleges to join forces in advocating for US military veterans and addressing their growing educational and career training needs. Concorde will further support the VEP’s work in highlighting issues and challenges that impact servicemembers and their families when pursuing an education after they separate from active duty service.

The partnership with EANGUS and VEP is a part of a number of initiatives that Concorde has in place to support student veterans. As a Military Committed School, Concorde seeks to help veterans pursue careers in healthcare fields through training and degree programs. With focused programming and support resources, Concorde is committed to veterans as they seek to transfer the soft skills acquired in the military – like problem solving and team work – to a healthcare career through a quality career education.

In 2014, Concorde formed Military Central – a resource center for its military students and their families – and has continues to offer military tuition assistance grants. Concorde will continue to demonstrate its commitment to supporting student veterans through its work with EANGUS and VEP.

“We are proud to work with institutions like Concorde Career Colleges to help bring to light important issues that affect today’s veterans,” said Daniel Elkins, Legislative Director of EANGUS, “Partnerships with institutions like Concorde are another step to ensure that our military servicemembers and their families receive the support they deserve as they pursue their educational needs.” Elkin added “It’s important to remember that support for our veterans shouldn’t end when they take off their uniform. We need to make sure that they continue to receive the resources necessary to pursue an education and make a successful adjustment to civilian life.”

“At Concorde Career Colleges our top priority is our students and that includes our student veterans. We understand the challenges that members of our Armed Forces face when adjusting to civilian life and have created programs for them as they transition into the workforce,” said Jami Frazier, President and Chief Operating Officer of Concorde College. “Concorde’s partnership with Veterans Education Project will help us provide staff development that will better enable us to serve the educational needs of our veteran students.”
