QUIKRETE® Unveils Trowel Grade Re-Cap and Rapid Road Repair – CA at World of Concrete

QUIKRETE®, the leading manufacturer of pre-blended commercial-grade cement and concrete products, strengthened its repair portfolio with the additions of QUIKRETE® Trowel Grade Re-Cap, QUIKRETE® Rapid Road Repair – CA (Calcium Aluminate) and an updated version of QUIKRETE® FastSet™ Repair Mortar. The full line of QUIKRETE products will be showcased at the World of Concrete in booth S10326 at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Feb. 4-7, 2020.

QUIKRETE® Trowel Grade Re-Cap

A special blend of Portland cement, sand, polymers and other proprietary additives, QUIKRETE Trowel Grade Re-Cap is a versatile shrinkage compensated material ideal for repairing spalled, cracked or pitted concrete surfaces from 1/16 inch to 1/2 inch. QUIKRETE Trowel Grade Re-Cap has a bond strength four times greater than the concrete itself. That means a concrete substrate will fracture or crack before its bond with QUIKRETE Trowel Grade Re-Cap. With 30 minutes of working time, one 20-pound bucket will cover approximately five square-feet at 3/8-inch thick and up to 15 square-feet at 1/8-inch thick. QUIKRETE Trowel Grade Re-Cap has a walk-on time of three hours and drive-on time of 24 hours.

Applications

  • Use QUIKRETE Trowel Grade Re-Cap to make repairs in a driveway, patio, sidewalk or other concrete surfaces being renewed with QUIKRETE Re-Cap Concrete Resurfacer. Boasting comparable bond strength, preparing the surface with QUIKRETE Trowel Grade Re-Cap complements QUIKRETE Re-Cap Concrete Resurfacer in a system for restoring large concrete surfaces at a fraction of the cost of replacing them.
  • Use QUIKRETE Trowel Grade Re-Cap to renew sections of sidewalk, steps and other concrete slabs up to 140 square feet. As a shrinkage-compensated material, QUIKRETE Trowel Grade Re-Cap gives contractors the alternative to resurface concrete with a hand-applied material versus a pourable resurfacer. While QUIKRETE Trowel Grade Re-Cap finishes hard and smooth, it can also provide a skid-resistant surface by dragging a course broom or brush over the surface.

QUIKRETE® Rapid Road Repair – CA (Calcium Aluminate)

QUIKRETE Rapid Road Repair is responsible for the rehabilitating thousands of bridge decks, highways, runways, parking garages, parking lots, driveways and other industrial concrete surfaces annually. Continuing the proven performance of this product line, QUIKRETE Rapid Road Repair – CA is a new calcium aluminate cement based formulation that also features fast-setting cements and alkali resistant (AR) glass fibers. This new repair material gives contractors up to 30 minutes working time, greater high-early compressive strength and increased tensile strength. So, regardless of the jobsite environment or conditions, permanent structural partial-depth repairs up to two inches can be completed quickly. QUIKRETE Rapid Road Repair – CA is available in 50-pound bags, and reaches 3,000 PSI in 90 minutes, 4,500 PSI in three hours and 8,000 PSI in 28 days. For full-depth repairs greater than two inches, a version of QUIKRETE Rapid Road Repair – CA extended with gravel or stone is available in 80-pound bags.

QUIKRETE FastSet™ Repair Mortar

Specifically formulated to make structural repairs to any concrete, masonry or stucco surface, improved adhesion and reduced shrinkage make FastSet Repair Mortar even more ideal for vertical and overhead repairs. With 20-30 minutes working time and its unique properties allow for the sculpting of the material during placement, FastSet Repair Mortar is used on damaged curbs, steps, pre-stressed panels, loading docks, retaining walls and sewers.
