Overwatch by High Wire Networks Delivers Next-gen Cloud Detection and Response Cybersecurity Solution

CHICAGO, May 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- High Wire Networks, a leading global technical field, professional and cybersecurity services company, today announced that it is offering Cloud Detection and Response (CDR) as part of the Overwatch Managed Security Platform as a Service. The Overwatch platform delivers X Detection and Response (XDR) technology and 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) as a service to managed service providers (MSPs) and their business clients.

The best-in-class Overwatch CDR solution secures Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) apps and protects public cloud infrastructure with automated attack detection, manual and automated threat hunting, pre-built compliance reports, and manual and automated response.

"Ultimately CDR will give our MSP partners and their business customers visibility into cloud-based apps and assets," said High Wire Networks Chief Technology Officer David Barton. "Visibility is key to reducing mean time to detect and respond to security incidents to better protect critical systems and data."

How CDR Works
The Overwatch CDR solution collects, transforms and stores events from:

-- SaaS applications, such as Microsoft Office 365, G Suite and Okta
    -- Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a Service (PaaS),
including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud
        Platform (GCP)

It then applies Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to automatically detect many types of attacks, including account takeovers.

Overwatch CDR also can monitor traffic directly on cloud infrastructure by leveraging native application programming interfaces (APIs), such as virtual network Terminal Access Point (vTAP) in Azure and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Traffic Monitoring in AWS, and then apply the Network Traffic Analysis (NTA) technology to this traffic.

By incorporating events from Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and NTA along with CDR, the solution provides full visibility across endpoints and campus networks, SaaS apps, VPCs as well as workloads and traffic in AWS, GCP and Azure.

"Essentially, the Overwatch CDR solution extends the cybersecurity protection we deliver with the Overwatch 24/7 platform to campus networks, endpoints and servers located in the cloud," said Barton.

How Overwatch 24/7 Works
Overwatch 24/7 combines X Detection & Response (XDR) technology with the Overwatch 24/7 Security Operation Center (SOC) to effectively cut through the noise and drill down on real threats.

Unlike traditional Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions, Overwatch 24/7 relies on comprehensive, pervasive data collection, big-data processing and artificial intelligence to uncover relevant, actionable data for effective threat detection and response. Armed with relevant data, Overwatch SOC analysts able to respond to attacks and stop them at critical points along the kill chain 24/7.
