HALO Smart Sensor from IPVideo Corporation Wins 2020 Campus Safety BEST Awards

BAY SHORE, N.Y., Aug. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The award-winning features of the 2.0 firmware of the HALO Smart Sensor, the security device for privacy areas, now incorporates spoken key word alerting. Individuals under duress can now utilize a spoken key word to send instant alerts to security for help in privacy areas that cannot have a camera. HALO is addressing the need for security in privacy areas like bathrooms, dorm rooms, locker rooms, et al. Thousands of incidents still occur in these places each year and needed privacy laws maintain their vulnerability, until now.

Now, a daughter in her dorm room or a student in a hazing incident can alert security to an attack or emergency situation in real time by shouting a keyword like "HALO HELP". The audio is still not being recorded maintaining privacy, but the alerts are automatically sent to security for immediate response. To help diffuse situations, the alerts also trigger an audible message that an emergency has been declared and security has been notified.

Another new feature is the addition of machine learning capabilities to establish audible level "normalcies" and advanced gunshot detection audio analytics that can trigger facility lock-down and emergency call response via the integration of third-party security applications when detected.

"These new features are a game changer for the security industry which did not have a good solution in place for privacy areas." states David Antar, President of IPVideo Corporation. "We are constantly looking to bring new features to better protect our students and citizens and I am very pleased that we were able to include these great new safety features at no additional cost to our campus customers."

Campus Safety Magazine and Campus Safety Conference recognized the HALO Smart Sensor as an outstanding campus security product in Incident Management & Response. The award was presented virtually due to the cancellation of the 2020 in person conference.

"We are very proud of this award and the recognition of the Campus Safety judging panel for recognizing the game changing nature of HALO" states Rick Cadiz , Vice President of IPVideo Corporation who received the virtual award. "HALO is the missing piece for campus environments as it provides security for bathrooms, locker rooms, patient rooms and dorm rooms where you cannot put a camera. For areas that have camera visibility, the real time integrated alerts provide campus security with the other missing senses of smell and hearing in those environments."

The 2020 Campus Safety BEST Awards recognize superlative security, law enforcement, emergency management and safety solutions for K-12 campuses, institutions of higher education and healthcare organizations. All entries were judged on all aspects involved such as innovation, functionality, competitive advantages, benefits to the installer or monitoring provider, and benefits to the end user.

"Campus Safety Magazine takes pride in focusing on content that helps protection professionals in the healthcare and education markets keep their students, teachers, patients, visitors, and campuses safe and secure," says Robin Hattersley Gray, executive editor of Campus Safety.

HALO Smart Sensor is manufactured in the U.S.A. and is Patent Pending.
