SPECTO: Boeing authorized licensee for rotor blade repair

December 16, 2020 - SPECTO is a Boeing authorized licensee for the maintenance and repair of Chinook and Apache helicopter rotor blades. During a recent visit to the Royal Netherlands Air Force base in Woensdrecht Mr. Torbjorn Sjogren, Vice President International Government and Defence, handed over a plaque confirming the collaboration between the companies.

In 2017 and 2019 licensing agreements were signed between The Boeing Company and SPECTO enabling SPECTO to perform the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of rotor blades for international operators of the Apache and Chinook helicopter.

Boeing is increasing the maintenance and support with local partners in Europe to shorten turn around times of component maintenance and increase availability. As a result of the agreements with SPECTO, the international Boeing operator network has an alternative option when it comes to rotor blade repairs.

SPECTO supports the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) in the Chinook and Apache helicopter component maintenance and has a state-of-the-art repair facility at the Main Support Base Woensdrecht. Recently the company won a three years contract of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) for the provision of rotor blade repair services to support NATO nations’ AH-64 helicopter fleets.
