Mike Rogers Elected Chairman of the MITRE Board of Trustees

MITRE's Board of Trustees elected Mike Rogers to serve as its Chairman. He is a national security expert and a former U.S. Representative from Michigan. He joined MITRE’s board in 2016 and has served as Vice Chairman since 2018.

"Mike Rogers’ vast national security expertise and experience helps strengthen MITRE’s whole of nation impact in global strategic competition and our work to help secure our economy, industrial base, borders, climate, and airspace," said Jason Providakes, MITRE president and CEO. "I also want to thank our outgoing Chairman Donald Kerr, who served on our board for 12 years and as chairman since 2018. He led the board at a time of extraordinary growth for MITRE, including the launch of MITRE Engenuity, Accelerator, and MITRE Labs, as well as navigating through COVID-19."

While representing Michigan’s 8th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001 to 2015, Mike Rogers served on the Energy and Commerce Committee and was chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Before serving in Congress, he was an officer in the U.S. Army and an FBI special agent. He also served in the Michigan State Senate. Since leaving public office, he founded the Mike Rogers Center for Intelligence and Global Affairs. He has an extensive background in cybersecurity, national and homeland security, and organizations that work with real-time threat assessment, behavioral modeling, and big data analytics.

Rogers was the host and executive producer of a six-part series Declassified: Untold Stories of American Spies for CNN, where he continues to be a national security contributor.
