Market Segments

 Wireline
The major challenges of wireline operators are to grow their business, market-share and profits by providing cost effective, reliable multi-play services, including voice, data and video, for both business and residential customers. ECI has decades of experience in deploying complex, carrier-grade, reliable and future-proof converged telecom solutions that fulfill those exact needs.

Wireless
In today's ever-changing, yet extremely demanding networking environment, bandwidth has become an expensive commodity. As 3G continues to gain momentum, aggregation at towers will migrate to a combination of TDM, ATM and Ethernet interfaces to transport voice and data over a common backhaul and backbone network. ECI, with its flexible optical, access and edge product families, offers each wireless provider the migration solution that best suits its timeline and needs.

 Cable MSO
Cable MSOs recognize the abundance of revenue opportunities available to them today if they have the right network in place; a network that can allow them to support the high–bandwidth demand applications, with Video-on-Demand (VoD) at the top of the list, and also to compete for new services such as business services and cellular backhaul. ECI provides full transmission solutions for cable MSOs that combine Carrier Ethernet switch/routers, MSPP and high-capacity xWDM into a single integrated solution.  The XDM and 9000 families provide several options for efficient video distribution.  In addition, the MSOs’ dynamic optical network environment is simplified by the XDM ROADM, as well as with the management capabilities of LightSoft.

Utility & Utelco
Utility companies want to increase productivity and diversify their businesses. For instance, power companies are seeking to make electric power transmission and distribution safer, more reliable and more economical by introducing advanced technologies for power system protection, automation, control and monitoring. Railways are looking to boost train frequency by introducing advanced train control technologies that will increase safety while reducing the distance between trains. The extensive product portfolio of ECI, which supports coarse and dense WDM, PDH/Async, SDH/SONET, data PCM and Carrier Ethernet switching/routing, provides UTelco companies with the choices they need to achieve their networking goals.

 Carrier of Carriers
CoCs are currently evolving their networks to support the increased traffic demand and variety of leasing services. In addition, the end customers of the CoC expect more visibility of their portion of the network, as well as more reliable service. ECI’s CoC solution is designed to address these issues, supporting all leasing options over a single, scalable, multi-service platform. Provisioning of new services, either SDH/Sonet, PDH, Ethernet or wavelength, is done by simple point–and-click – reducing provisioning and network troubleshooting time in a competitive environment.

Transportation
Transportation companies (such as railway, subway and airport) are installing more monitoring capabilities, real-time control and high speed Internet access in order to improve their infrastructure and provide more reliable and secure service. In order to support the new advanced services the transportation companies must evolve their networks to next generation. ECI works with these transportation companies to develop solutions designed to provide a smooth migration path to next generation networks that will support legacy services alongside the advanced Ethernet services – all over a single multi-service network.

 Government & Defense Solutions
All over the world, defense forces are migrating from legacy telecom to modern NGN infrastructures that support advanced military applications such as: Sensor-to-Shooter, Shared Situational Awareness and Converged Services. To deliver the broadest range of solutions, ECI heads a number of leading partner companies that are squarely focused on fulfilling customer needs at every communication layer.
