CMC LTD., is a leading systems engineering and integration company in India, offering application design, development, testing services and asset-based solutions in niche segments through turnkey projects for mission critical systems. CMC has also been expanding its service presence in international markets offering offshoring advantages and delivering value through service level-based and project scope-based deliveries.

Defense Industry, more than any other sector, has to stay a step ahead of the competition or threat they have in mind. In the current world scenario and challenges, the necessity to strengthen security to combat any possible threat is critical for every nation. With the rising importance of R & D and the budgets associated, it has become important to create major information systems and infrastructure that aid information, decision and action.

Technology pervasion and globalization has created space for the design and manufacture of technologically advanced products. Command and control technologies are becoming increasingly important in the field of operations.

The Company expects game changing technology innovations to continue to be created within the global Defense industry in the future. In the defense segment, new high tech systems being developed include directed energy, high powered microwave weapons, hyper-sonic missiles, long-range high altitude unmanned aerial systems, satellite-based high resolution full motion video cameras and an extraordinary software/hardware supporting base. These kinds of innovative technologies will change society in immeasurable ways. At CMC, employees have been helping the defense sector to make that leap.

CMC has more than 30 years of expansive experience in this field and has been providing consulting, design and development services along with testing services in real-time systems. The Company has re-defined standards and provided the most cost-effective and high quality product solutions to its clients.

The Company have been involved in developing defense applications since late 1980s and its engagement with the Indian defense companies has run deep over the years. The Company has developed cutting edge systems for the Indian defense forces, helping them to prepare for the warfare of the future.

Among CMC’s offerings in the defense sector are surveillance and decision support system for coastal surveillance: The system will permit an integrated display of synthetic inputs from sensors of all nodes in the network to produce a common operational picture (COP). Common Operational Picture (COP) and Decision Support System for users like Coast Guard and Navy will enable them to take timely and informed decisions for naval defense.

The system is interlinked with a host of systems (RADAR, SONAR, AIS, Indigenous - AIS, Communication Interception System, EO/TI and GPS). The application uses the available LAN/WAN networking architectures and VSAT link for transfer of messages and exchange of planning / action information as well as transfer and correlation of plot among various nodes. The application will use TCP/IP protocols during communication.

The system shall provide a graphic display of a combined air, surface and sub-surface plot on the monitor, where different objects including registered / unregistered, own, friendly, enemy or neutral contacts can be plotted. This integrated display shall contain ‘real time’ track data based on sensors within the network and also ‘virtual’ tracks, which may be manually input using best available information and transferred to other nodes.

C2I System: This is a real time command and control system for air defense applications. System receives target information from its own radar and cross-links it with data from other sensors, including AWACs, in real time. Data from multiple sensors are fused to generate a composite scenario. The speed and heading of any target is automatically calculated. In case of a hostile target, it evaluates the threat and instantly sends warning messages to vulnerable areas and points.
