The HA LONG SHIPBUILDING CO. LTD is one of the biggest member under the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group specialized in shipbuilding and shiprepairing activities for domestic and foreign ship-owners located in a north of Vietnam near the Ha Long bay, a heritage of the world. The main material and marine equipment are imported from other countries.

On 29th October 2013 Ha Long shipyard signed a contract to build a crane barge type 3216 for Damen Shipyards Group Gorinchem- Holland.

The crane barge type 3216 is a non-self-propelled pontoon with an outfitting best suited to operation in inland waterways, river and seaports, open water areas of 200 miles distance from the shore etc. On board of the barge is installed a jib crane of 20/8 T lifting capacity, 7.0m outreach and lifting speed of 3/7 m/min. Its design and construction complies with the regulations of ULS Class 2A, under supervision of Lloyd’s Register.

HA LONG SHIPYARD will build the barge hull and install the equipment used on board, which will be supplied by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem.
