tms was set up in 1970 as an employee partnership. The services the company offers are based on extensive expertise and many years of experience in the field of defence applications. Today tms has 30 permanent employees: specialised computer scientists, engineers, mathematicians, physicists and technicians. Apart from modern hardware and software, the electronics laboratory and the development workshop provide support for the solution of specific client tasks. Tms’ main client is the Bundeswehr. The company is DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 certified.


HEAT (Hazard Estimation After TBM Engagement) - It is a software system for the calculation and visualisation of the dispersion of chemical warfare agents, which can be released following an engagement of TBM (Tactical Ballistic Missiles) with unconventional warheads. Such functionality is indispensable for assessment of the effectiveness of extended air defence weapons systems, as well as for operational use in planning and early warning in the field of passive defence.

Metrology - tms develops special measuring electronics for geopenetration and fast underwater movement (hydrokinetics), which withstand the mechanical stresses which occur and therefore ensure maximum availability for acquisition of the measured data. Due to the autonomy of their systems for measurement data acquisition, which often allows integration of the sensors in shielding housings, high data quality is also ensured.

NEWS (Analysing the Dispersion of Noxious Substances) - Regardless of whether these are released through terrorist attack, industrial accident or in the form of military weapons - it is a key prerequisite for adopting efficient countermeasures. Dispersion models thus firstly serve to support early warning measures when facing an imminent threat and secondly help to plan and train future threat scenarios. They therefore serve as an important tool in state-of-the-art incident/crisis management.

SIGNAL - It is software for supporting production control in production companies. The production is reproduced in SIGNAL as a computer model. This enables simulations of the production. SIGNAL uses data from existing PPS systems for this and is itself used to optimise complex production processes. SIGNAL simulates production in the future and can make forecasts regarding whether jobs will be completed on schedule in production. In this way, deadline difficulties and bottlenecks can be identified early and avoided. Decisions regarding alternative actions are supported by quantitative statements. Various parameter assignments are evaluated in production by simulating production orders.
