In these times of financial crisis, the Defence organisation has to work hard to remain affordable and relevant for the long term. Furthermore, we are going all out to make sure our armed forces can make a difference and stand out for their quality, versatility and power of renewal. The appendix contains a brief report on the evaluation. The result is this updated DIS, which marks a new step in the intensification of the dialogue and cooperation between government, the Netherlands Defence- and Security Technological and Industrial Base (NL DTIB) and the knowledge institutions, as well as in the efforts to position the NL DTIB in the international context.
