This procurement competition is intended to appoint a small panel of ATEX Contractors to complete a range of ATEX work across all generating stations, the total number will depend on the quality of tenders received. The Framework will comprise a 2-year term, with the option, at the Contracting Entity’s own discretion, to extend up to a maximum of a further 1 year in the following stations.

ESB Generation and Trading (ESB G&T) is part of the ESB Group (ESB) and is responsible for the operation, maintenance (including overhauls) and management of multiple electricity generating stations in Ireland and Northern Ireland. As a result of a recent Atex review across the portfolio, a number of non-conformances have been identified which requires corrective action. As a result an Atex Repairs Framework Agreement is required.

Cable-laying ship services
The provision of Subsea Cable Survey and Remedial Maintenance Work along the cable route corridor of the Moneypoint to Kilpaddoge 220kV (1&2) and Glanagow to Raffeen 220kV Subsea Cable Circuits.
To carry out a cable depth of burial survey and geophysical surveys along the cable routes to determine any sections of cable which are exposed and within the same outage window carry out any additional burial works where the cables are deemed to have insufficient cover, as determined by the ESB engineer on site.

The list below outlines in general the requirements but there may be other requirements which will be outlined during the tender process:
Non Destructive Testing (NDT) — this includes all the main techniques of crack detection (MPI, DPI, EC, etc.), defect sizing, weld quality control techniques (radiography, etc), wall and oxide thickness, visual.
— Welding inspector.
— Metallurgical inspection and evaluation services – metallurgical sample preparation, in situ metallurgical evaluation techniques, i.e. hardness and replication, microstructural assessment.
— Project management, this includes management and control of medium to large sized inspection projects from the initial programming and pricing stages through to execution and completion.
