7.Contract description

The Action will contribute to supporting the AfCFTA specifically for the preparation of the second round of negotiations which concerns the protocols on investment, intellectual property rights and competition policy (including geographical indications). The implementing agency is looking for 4 IPR experts and 2 support staff to be working full time in the implementation of the action during 4 years. The experts are expected to work on all type of IPRs (trade marks, designs, patents, copyrights, geographical indications and plant varieties), including trade negotiations, adoption of international treaties, enforcement and awareness. Experts will be based in Zimbabwe, Cameroun and Ethiopia and required to implement activities in all African countries. Further details of the action can be found in the following link.

Regulation (EU) No 236/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11.3.2014 laying down common rules and procedures for the implementation of the Union's instruments for financing external action and the Development Cooperation Instrument (DCI) — See Annex A2 of the Practical Guide.

Please be aware that after the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the EU, the rules of access to EU procurement procedures of economic operators established in third countries will apply to candidates or tenderers from the United Kingdom depending on the outcome of negotiations.
