Statsbygg (the Directorate of Public Construction and Property) has been tasked by the Ministry of Justice and Emergency Management with establishing a new 2-year vocational school for the education of fire and rescue personnel. The new vocational college will be built on the existing Norwegian Fire School in Tjeldsun Municipality. There will be room for 240 vocational school students and 80 course students at the same time. The new vocational school requires new infrastructure. A new fire station will be established and a new teaching/canteen building. The existing training field will be completely rehabilitated. In addition, a new training field will be established with new training items and smaller buildings. Parts of the area have polluted masses (PFOS) and management must be carried out in accordance with approved measures planning from the Norwegian Environment Agency.
Anticipated announcement of the tender swill be February/March 2021. The project includes two contracts. The contracts will be in progress in the same time frame. Tenders may be submitted for both of the contracts. A turnkey contract (NS 8407) that includes a new fire station (carriage hall) approx. 2 400 m
