Cobalt Iron Adds New Storage Platforms to Growing List of ADP-Supported Storage

LAWRENCE, Kan., Oct. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cobalt Iron Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based SaaS data protection, today announced that its Adaptive Data Protection (ADP) Accelerators now support an even wider array of industry-leading storage platforms for customers wanting to leverage Dell EMC, IBM, and NetApp storage as well as cloud object storage from Alibaba Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, IBM Cloud, and Microsoft Azure for data protection. As a result, those customers can easily take advantage of both new and legacy storage for their data protection workloads.

"Cobalt Iron's unique, modern approach to data protection is to let pay-as-you-grow software do the heavy analytic and operational lifting automatically in the cloud while interfacing to off-the-shelf hardware on premises. To Cobalt Iron, that means we're embracing customers' existing investments while completely modernizing their data protection infrastructure," said Richard Spurlock, CEO and founder of Cobalt Iron. "ADP is an open architecture that can manage myriad storage platforms. By continuing to add to the list of popular storage products people can use with ADP, we're helping to ensure companies will not only get more mileage out of their existing storage investments but also be able to exploit investments in new storage hardware and cloud technologies with simplicity."

A component of Cobalt Iron's ADP operating system, ADP Accelerators leverage a variety of storage to deliver ADP's services. ADP Accelerators now support:

    -- Dell EMC Data Domain DD3300, DD6300, DD6800, DD9300, DD9800 and previous
        models
    -- IBM FlashSystem V9000, 9100
    -- IBM XIV
    -- NetApp E-Series, FAS, EF-Series, AFF-Series
    -- Alibaba Cloud Object Storage
-- Amazon Web Services Cloud Object Storage
-- Google Cloud Platform Object Storage
-- Microsoft Azure Cloud Object Storage
    -- IBM Cloud Object Storage

The additions will benefit customers looking to leverage new flash, cloud, and other storage options for data protection while at the same time allowing them to maximize the life of their existing storage investment. Storage and backup administrators will find it easier to migrate from existing to newer storage technologies for data protection operations.

Besides the new additions, ADP Accelerators already support:

    -- IBM Storwize V3700
    -- IBM Storwize V5010, V5020, V5030, V5030F
    -- IBM Storwize V7000, V7000F
