AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING CORPORATION, BEIJING (AMECO) is a joint venture between Air China and Lufthansa, with 75% shareholding by Air China and 25% shareholding by Lufthansa. Headquartered in Beijing, AMECO BEIJING consists of a Beijing Base and nine branches dotted in Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Hohhot, Shanghai, Guiyang, Wuhan and Guangzhou.

AMECO BEIJING’s services cover line maintenance, aircraft overhaul and painting, engine overhaul, component overhaul, landing gear overhaul, business jet services, engineering services, training services and GSE calibration. It is authorized by CAAC to act as a Designated Modification Design Organization Representative (DMDOR). Currently, it possesses maintenance licenses from almost 30 countries and regions, including CAAC, FAA and EASA. It has more than 160 maintenance stations at home and abroad, forming a large maintenance network worldwide.

AMECO BEIJING’s hangars and facilities are mainly located in Beijing and Chengdu. In Beijing Capital International Airport, the Company operates two four-bay hangars, capable of accommodating four Airbus A380 aircraft for maintenance and four Boeing 747 aircraft for overhaul at the same time, together with an one-bay hangar for the overhaul and painting of Boeing 747. The above-mentioned hangars suffice all the maintenance layover requirements of various aircraft types in the market. The Company is also running a hangar for business jet services in Beijing. In Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, AMECO BEIJING has a Boeing 757 three-bay hangar and an Airbus A321 three-bay hangar for letter checks and heavy maintenance services, meeting the requirements of all maintenance levels for Boeing 737NG, Boeing 757 and Airbus A340. Another painting hangar can house aircraft as large as an Airbus A330. At the moment, a hangar for line maintenance that could house an Airbus A330 and two Airbus A321 aircraft at the same time is under construction. The branches of Chongqing, Hangzhou, Tianjin and Hohhot respectively have a hangar to meet the maintenance layover requirements of Boeing 737NG series and Airbus A320 series.

AMECO BEIJING employs about 11,000 employees with a strong league of highly dedicated and technically qualified engineers. In addition to securing the operation of the entire fleet of its shareholder, Air China, it offers services to nearly a hundred domestic and international carriers. The Company focuses on scientific and technological innovation through more than a hundred technological research and development projects awarded by the state or China’s civil aviation authority, filling in a lot of gaps in China’s civil aviation technology.
