Flexjet was honored with NATA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Employer Recognition Award, which recognizes aviation maintenance organizations that encourage and support aviation maintenance technician (AMT) training. In addition, Flexjet Senior Crew Chief Jerry Marolt was awarded the ATP/NATA General Aviation Service Technician Award. This award acknowledges the exceptional performance of a licensed airframe and powerplant mechanic or radio repairman who has practiced his or her craft for a period of 20 or more years.

“Maintaining our aircraft with fanatical attention to detail supports our mission of safely transporting our Owners, clients and crews,” said Flexjet Chief Executive Officer Michael Silvestro. “And having NATA recognize the company and employees such as Jerry Marolt confirms that we are going above and beyond industry standards to fulfill that mission.”

Mr. Marolt first entered the industry in 1993 as an A&P Mechanic and has served as Quality Control (QC) Inspector, AMT, AMT Lead, Inspector, and Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector throughout his 23-plus year professional career. He joined the Flight Options team in 2000 and, in 2015, transitioned to a newly created position at Flexjet: Senior crew chief of a Global Express aircraft. Mr. Marolt works both as a Maintenance Crew Chief and as a Cabin Server on the ultra long-range, large-cabin aircraft.

This is the fourth year in a row that Flexjet has been honored with the employer recognition award. This honor is based on the percentage of AMTs employed (directly or indirectly) by a maintenance organization that participated in qualified training events. An AMT must complete at least 12 hours of training each year to be counted towards the organization’s award percentage.

This award is just the latest recognition of Flexjet’s commitment to safety and maintenance excellence. Flexjet’s fractional aircraft program is the first in the world to be recognized as achieving the Air Charter Safety Foundation’s Industry Audit Standard, is the first and only company to be honored with 18 FAA Diamond Awards for Excellence, upholds an ARG/US Platinum Safety Rating and is IS-BAO compliant.

Marolt accepted his award for the ATP/NATA General Aviation Service Technician Award (sponsored by Aircraft Technical Publishers) on June 7, 2017 at a special luncheon on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The annual NATA Industry Excellence Awards took place at the Hyatt Regency in Washington, D.C. during a special awards luncheon in conjunction with the 2017 NATA Aviation Business Conference.
