Spitzer Hardware and Supply Company holds grand reopening event
GRAFTON, Ohio, June 27, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Spitzer Hardware and Supply Company will hold a family-friendly grand reopening event on July 1, 2017, starting at 11 a.m. The event will offer door prizes for attendees, as well as free food and drink, and will be held on location at 855 Main St.
The ribbon-cutting for the newly reopened hardware store will be held at 11:30 a.m. Attendees will also be able to shop around during the event and Spitzer Hardware and Supply Company will be running specials thoughout the week to celebrate the grand reopening. The store will be open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Spitzer name may be better known in Ohio as an auto dealership, but the Spitzer Hardware store originally opened in 1904. Several years later, the hardware store would begin to sell the Ford Model T, which eventually spun-off into its own business.
In 1939, George Spitzer, founder of Spitzer Hardware, tasked his son John to liquidate the Spitzer car dealership, which hadn't recovered completely from the Great Depression, according to a current representative of Spitzer Automotive. Instead, John invested his time into the automotive business, which has now grown into sixteen total locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida.
