doTERRA® Donates to John Hudson Benefit to Raise Money for Young Boy with a Rare Cell Disorder

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, July 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- doTERRA was proud to support the John Hudson Benefit, a fundraiser dedicated to John Hudson, a 13 year-old with a rare cell disorder called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB, also referred to as "Butterfly Skin," is a rare disorder with no known cure and painful, debilitating side effects. Funds raised at the John Hudson Benefit will help pay for medical supplies, care, and equipment for John as his parents and caretakers strive to provide him with constant medical attention.

EB typically results from a genetic mutation, or as the result of an auto-immune disease, and results in extremely fragile skin. This condition of fragile skin not only causes children like John immense pain, but it also leads to devastating side effects including infections, painful blisters, and internal and external wounds.

Friends and family members of John started the John Hudson benefit a few years ago to help raise money for him and his family as they cope with this disease every day. John's family must constantly provide medical equipment and care to try and keep him comfortable. Every year, friends, community members, and corporations like doTERRA contribute funds as support.

Like other families of children with EB, John and his family struggle daily to live a normal, comfortable life. With no cure for EB, his parents and caretakers work tirelessly to provide John with the best possible treatment for this rare and excruciating disorder.
