Red Wing Shoe Company Announces League City, Texas Store Opening

Red Wing Shoe Company announced today the grand opening of its new Red Wing Store located in League City, Texas. Red Wing is relocating its Houston store on Reed Road to the new League City location to better serve oil, gas and petrochemical businesses. It fills a gap in the Southeast quadrant of the Houston metropolitan area by providing a retail outlet offering premium footwear and workwear that accommodates the unique jobsite needs of the energy industry.

Given the League City store’s proximity to the oil, gas and petrochemical workforce, which operate in some of the most hazardous work environments, it will uniquely offer not only purpose-built footwear but flame resistant (FR) workwear, safety glasses, gloves and other personal protective equipment (PPE) accessories, all of which meet or exceed safety standards. Additionally, the store will offer Red Wing's Heritage collection of handcrafted work-inspired lifestyle footwear and Vasque®, a performance-based outdoor footwear brand of hiking boots and shoes.

The store will be managed by Tony Arevalo who has spent more than a decade in the oil and gas and industrial footwear industry. Arevalo joined Red Wing Shoe Company in 2012 and became manager of the Houston Reed Road store in 2015. At the store, visitors will enter an industrial work-themed atmosphere that provides comfort for customers and connects them with the core principals of Red Wing Shoe Company. This development comes a few months after the Minnesota-based private company relocated and expanded its hub for the North American oil and gas industry in Houston, which also was located on Reed Road and has now moved to the intersection of Sam Houston Parkway West and Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road.
