D3MAX Signs Contract for the Design of First Commercial Plant

GRAND FORKS, N.D., Aug. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Last February, D3MAX, LLC announced the completion and shipment of its pilot plant employing the patented D3MAX cellulosic ethanol technology to Ace Ethanol, LLC, in Stanley, Wisconsin. Pilot testing of the patented D3MAX corn fiber-to-ethanol process has been successful allowing D3MAX to move to the next stage of commercial deployment - the design of a full-scale D3MAX plant at Ace Ethanol.

Ace Ethanol set specific performance goals for the pilot testing and the D3MAX process. "The D3MAX pilot process was able to meet or exceed our performance goals," says Neal Kemmet, president and general manager at Ace Ethanol, LLC. "Based upon the pilot testing, we believe D3MAX has the potential to significantly improve our companies' financial performance. We are in the process of finalizing pilot testing and will be working to ensure that we can seamlessly integrate the technology to our existing process. Once we have all the pieces in place the final decision on installation will be made by our board of directors and the Ace membership."

D3MAX has now reached a major milestone on its path to commercialization. The next phase for D3MAX is to design a commercial-scale D3MAX process for the Ace Ethanol plant in Stanley, Wisconsin. "We are extremely pleased with the pilot test results and are very happy to begin the design of the first commercial D3MAX plant," says Mark Yancey, Chief Technology Officer at D3MAX. "We hope to have the first D3MAX plant under construction in the first quarter of 2018."

D3MAX has signed a contract with AdvanceBio Systems, LLC for a full-scale D3MAX design integrated with the Ace Ethanol plant in Stanley, Wisconsin and upon the completion of the commercial design, the Ace Ethanol board will decide if the process will be installed at the plant. This production facility is the same facility where the pilot plant was tested.
