APTIM Names Mike Gallagher Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

APTIM today announced that Mike Gallagher has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. In this new role, Mr. Gallagher will oversee operations across all business units within APTIM, in addition to working with the executive team in developing key strategies for the future.

A seasoned veteran of the Energy industry, Mike has presided over the successful growth and operation of some of the nation’s leading utilities. His vast wealth of experience includes both domestic and international assignments, and his leadership roles encompass commercial development, origination, operations, project development, M&A, engineering, transmission, and storage and distribution. Mike’s background includes nuclear, fossil and renewable generation for both regulated and non-regulated businesses.

Mike comes to us from Sempra Energy where he was a Senior Vice President in Sempra Infrastructure LLC. Mike spent almost 11 years with Sempra Energy in roles of increasing responsibility in all areas of regulated and non-regulated gas and power. Prior to Sempra, Mike was a managing partner at Sterling Energy Operations, LLC and before that, worked 11 years for Duke Energy in their regulated and non-regulated business.

A graduate of the United States Navy Nuclear Power Program, Mike served onboard the Nuclear Submarine, USS Batfish and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He also completed the Advanced Nuclear Research Reactor program at North Carolina State University and the Executive Finance program at Harvard Business School. Mike recently completed a five year term as a Member of the Board of Directors of INGAA, the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America. During that time Mike was also a member of the Upstate South Carolina Red Cross Board of Directors. He is presently on the Advisory Board for Delta Energy & Communications.
