Lockheed Martin to Debut Mars Lander Concept at IAC Australia

Webcast and Press Conference to Provide Update About Mars Base Camp

DENVER, Sept. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Never before in history have we had the technology and global interest to send humans to Mars. Lockheed Martin's concept for how to send humans to Mars in about a decade is called Mars Base Camp. The vision behind Mars Base Camp is simple: Transport astronauts from Earth to a Mars-orbiting science laboratory where they can perform unprecedented, real-time scientific exploration, all while preparing and identifying the best place to land humans on the surface.

WHAT: At the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Adelaide, Australia, Lockheed Martin experts will present an update to its Mars Base Camp vision. The
presentation will include a look at how Mars Base Camp aligns with NASA's lunar Deep Space Gateway, and a debut of a crewed Mars lander concept.

The live presentation will be webcast by Australia's Science Channel.

Following the presentation, Lockheed Martin will hold a press conference at IAC to take questions from news media. The press conference will also have a
teleconference line for journalists who did not attend the conference.
