The Lynd Company Continues to Support American Veterans by Offering Housing Solutions

The Lynd Company has expanded its Veteran program with the purchase of Chesterfield, Silas Creek, Twin City, and Whispering Pines apartment communities. This $60 million portfolio consists of 1,125-units located in North and South Carolina, which are states with a high number of homeless veterans in need. This was a perfect fit for the program as currently there is a large number of active military or veterans living on the sites.

With this latest addition, the Invest in America’s Veterans Foundation (IAVF) has a total of six (6) communities, with a value of $98 million, established in four states across the nation. These states include: Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Each community is designed with a Veterans Center and with a Veteran Service Officer who will support the needs of the foundation’s participants.

Founded in 2008 by Ralph A. Santillo, IAVF is a non-profit organization designed to serve America’s Veterans by offering assistance as they return to civilian life. Their services include job placement assistance, DD-214 retrieval, counseling services, suicide prevention, food assistance, and housing assistance for homeless Veterans. Ralph, an Army Veteran himself, knows the difficulties many servicemen and servicewomen face when integrating back into civilian life. Last year alone, IAVF assisted 752 Veterans. Over the past 8 years, Ralph estimates over 5,000 Veterans have benefitted by using the services offered by IAVF.

When asked about the program’s goals, Ralph said, “It’s our goal for at least 20% of all units in each community to house Veterans.” While Veterans are grateful for the variety of services offered by IAVF, access to housing has been the most important resource offered by the program. Ralph also states, “What these Veterans are most grateful for is having a roof over their heads.”

Adam David Lynd, President and CEO of the Lynd Company, states, “So far, the foundation has purchased over 2,300 units in Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The goal is to further expand the program across the country by purchasing $400 to $500 million in properties per year. We are looking in areas such as Chicago, Las Vegas, Texas, and other locations across the United States. LYND is proud to manage these assets for IAVF, which supports our American Veterans.”
