National Women's Small Business Month: zulily Salutes Inspiring Female Entrepreneurs with Dedicated Sales Event Series

SEATTLE, Oct. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- From inspirational girl bosses to super moms with the next million-dollar idea, women everywhere are stepping into the role of CEO and creating successful businesses of their own. In honor of National Women's Small Business Month this October, zulily, the online retailer obsessed with bringing special finds every day to its customers, is raising awareness around female entrepreneurship by launching four weeks of sales events featuring female small business owners and the amazing products they've created.

Since the company was founded in 2010, zulily continues to empower and help entrepreneurs thrive at every stage of their journey by providing a platform to reach new customers, telling a story around their brand and providing proprietary resources to grow their businesses. Having featured 15,000 brands to date, and launching 9,000 products a day, zulily offers its customers the unique opportunity to discover new and beloved brands. Throughout October, shoppers will have access to more than 100 small businesses, all companies created and owned by women. Each sales event will feature products ranging from home décor to footwear, to maternity clothes, women's and kids' fashion, to baby gear, beauty, DIY and more.

"At zulily, we support both small businesses and female entrepreneurs each and every day. We are raising visibility and celebrating inspirational female businesswomen and their inventions, by spotlighting National Women's Small Business Month with a month-long celebration. Our dedicated sales events will feature unique and fresh merchandise from women-owned and -led businesses," said Lori Twomey, Chief Merchant at zulily. "It is truly inspiring to see these women and their companies grow with our teams here at zulily. We hope their stories of determination and perseverance will encourage other rising entrepreneurs who are just starting their own business ventures to make what seems like the impossible, possible."

By working with zulily, many of these female entrepreneurs were able to expand their businesses and quickly reach their goals. A select number of brands participating include:

-- CHOOZE - In 2011, Sharon Blumberg, mother of three, was driven to start
a brand that empowers kids with creativity, confidence and their power
to make an impact. She created CHOOZE after her youngest daughter chose
to mismatch her shoes every day with confidence. As a result, Sharon
decided to take a leap of faith and founded a company selling shoes that
are "creatively coordinated." Each purchase provides buyers with the
opportunity to "CHOOZE your CAUSE." CHOOZE donates a percentage of the
purchase to a charity of the buyer's choice, as a way to teach kids
about how their choices impact others.

-- AllerMates - Realizing that there was no clear way to help easily
communicate her son's health concerns, Iris Shamus created AllerMates as
a way to educate and alert others about a child's allergy or health
concern, while also empowering them and making them feel good and safe.
AllerMates is now a growing line of fun alert wristbands, colorful
medicine cases, lunch bags and more, to help bring awareness and keep
children safe. Iris believes that the business of safeguarding families
is endless and continues to look for innovative ways to expand.

-- PackIt - In 2008, Melissa Kieling found herself a single mom to three
children, with a need to reinvent her career. The idea to create
freezable lunch bags came from Melissa's desire to send her kids to
school with healthy lunches that wouldn't spoil by lunchtime. Since
there was nothing on the market, she decided to invent it herself!
Inspired, she cut apart a shower curtain to create freezable lunch bags
-- and PackIt was born. Through an infomercial that featured her
invention, she turned PackIt into a multimillion-dollar business and is
continuing to expand her line of products.
-- Da Bomb Bath Fizzers - Founded by two young female entrepreneurs, Da
Bomb Bath Fizzers(TM) was created when the Bercaw sisters Isabel (age
        16) and Caroline (15) were looking for something that was a little
different from the bath bombs currently on the market. Guided by the
belief that everyone loves surprises, they added a little surprise in
the center of their line of bath bombs and consumer demand rose. The
pair manages to juggle school and friends, while standing at the helm of
a company that has created nearly 100 jobs in their community, and
continues to sell out at both brick and mortar stores and e-commerce
        sites like zulily.
