Ferrovial Commits $100,000 to Rebuild Texas Fund
AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ferrovial, one of the world's leading infrastructure operators and municipal services companies, today announced a $100,000 donation to the Rebuild Texas Fund in support of the state's recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey.
Announced by Governor Greg Abbott, the Rebuild Texas Fund was established by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, in collaboration with the OneStar Foundation, to provide relief to Texans in the aftermath of Harvey, which made landfall in the state as a Category 4 hurricane.
Ferrovial and its subsidiary companies - Cintra, Ferrovial Agroman, Webber and Broadspectrum - maintain a strong presence in the state, providing a variety of infrastructure and related services to public and private sector customers. Cintra, Ferrovial Agroman and Broadspectrum's U.S. headquarters are located in Austin, and Webber is based in Houston.

In addition to this corporate donation, Webber helped the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) in its efforts to reopen roads and highways in the Houston area. Webber assisted the state in resetting a concrete traffic barrier and removing debris displaced by the San Jacinto River along US 59; the company also assisted with the reopening of the northbound lanes of Beltway 8 West and IH 69 Eastex at the San Jacinto River.
"As soon as the storm passed, it was critical to have open roadways so that food and supplies could be brought in safely and people could start rebuilding their lives," said Tim Creson, president and chief executive officer of Webber. Webber is also registered with FEMA and will continue to assist as needed.
