Applications Being Accepted for Solar Energy Innovators Program Through January 8, 2018

The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education is accepting applications for the Solar Energy Innovators Program, a program of the Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Solar Technologies Office. The Solar Energy Innovators Program offers research opportunities for up to two years focused on topics related to the integration of solar energy.

The purpose of the Solar Energy Innovators Program is to enable selected applicants to conduct practical research on innovative solutions to the challenges faced by electrical utilities, energy service providers and electric public utility commissions as the deployment of solar energy and other distributed energy resources increase on the electrical grid.

To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents pursuing a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctoral degree or have received one of these degrees in science, technology, mathematics, engineering, public policy, business, law or other field relevant to the position. Selected participants will receive an annual stipend based on appointment level and commensurate with qualifications. Participants will be eligible to receive an allowance of up to $10,000 for education and/or scientific activities, a health insurance supplement and possible relocation travel of up to $5,000. The appointment is full-time and cannot be supplemented with additional salary from the host institution. Questions about the Solar Energy Innovators Program should be directed to DOE-RPP@orau.org.
