Tetra Tech Awarded $40 Million FAA Aerospace Information Management System Contract

Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) announced today that it has been awarded a $40 million, single-award contract to develop a new information system for tracking and analyzing medical information associated with pilots, air traffic controllers, and other aviation related personnel. Under the five-year Aerospace Medicine Safety Information System (AMSIS) contract, Tetra Tech will support the FAA in the system engineering and design, system architecture development, testing, data analytics, training, and deployment of the system.

The FAA Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) advances the field of study of aerospace medicine and medical certification programs of pilots, air traffic controllers, and other safety critical personnel. AMSIS will be used as a platform to provide better data accessibility and enhanced ability to analyze medical information to identify safety trends. AMSIS will replace existing legacy systems and functionalities and will also provide new capabilities to support AAM core safety initiatives such as Airmen Medical Certification, ATCS Medical Clearance, Industry Drug and Alcohol Testing Program (Drug Abatement), Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) Program, Internal Substance Abuse Program, and Aerospace Medical Research.

“Tetra Tech’s federal information technology group has been supporting the FAA in its mission of aviation safety for more than 20 years,” said Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO Dan Batrack. “We are pleased to continue this support with the Office of Aerospace Medicine to develop an innovative information technology management system that advances the safety of the aviation industry.”
