John P. Jumper to Retire from Leidos Board of Directors

RESTON, Va., Feb. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a Fortune 500® information technology, engineering, and science leader, today announced that former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John P. Jumper will retire from the Board of Directors following a distinguished eleven-year tenure with the company at the end of his term. The Board of Directors have launched the search to select a successor.

Jumper served as chairman and CEO from 2012 to 2014, guiding the company through its successful transition into two separate, publicly-traded companies--Leidos and Science Applications International Corporation.

Jumper joined the private sector in 2005 following a career of nearly four decades of military service in the United States Air Force culminating as the chief of staff of the USAF. As a member of the Joint Chiefs, he acted as a military adviser to the secretary of defense, National Security Council and the president. As chief of staff during both operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, Jumper served as the most senior uniformed Air Force officer responsible for the organization, training and equipage of more than 700,000 active duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian forces serving in the United States and overseas. He has received many awards over the span of his career, including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal and the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal.
