Paul McElhinney, Longtime Aviation and Power Generation Executive, Joins AE Industrial Partners as Operating Partner

AE Industrial Partners, LP (“AEI”), a private equity investor in aerospace, power generation and specialty industrial companies, announced today that Paul McElhinney has joined the firm as an Operating Partner. He will also be joining the Board of Directors of two AEI portfolio companies, Belcan and Kellstrom Aerospace.

Mr. McElhinney brings to AEI over 30 years of operations and leadership experience in aviation finance, and jet engine and industrial gas turbine support services markets. He was most recently the President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Power Services, as well as Senior Vice President of GE.

Mr. McElhinney has held numerous positions and successively larger leadership roles at GE throughout his career, including serving as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Power Generation Services, a $15 billion business with 26,000 people in more than 150 countries from May 2014 through December 2017. He previously served as CEO and President of GE Aviation Services, the aftermarket arm of GE Aviation, and also served as General Counsel and Head of Business Development of GE Aviation earlier in his career. Mr. McElhinney began his GE career in 1992 in GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) in Shannon, Ireland, serving as General Counsel before moving to GE Aviation in 2002. He started his career in aviation financing in 1988 at GPA Group, which was later acquired by GE Capital Aviation Services.

Mr. McElhinney’s past board affiliations include Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport, Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce, Wake Forest University School of Business and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of GE’s Corporate Executive Council, as well as GE’s Services Council. Mr. McElhinney holds an Honors Degree in Law from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.
