March 10 - 18: Dueling Indoor Test Tracks Highlight Minnesota's Love of Trucks

MINNEAPOLIS, March 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The 45(th) Annual Twin Cities Auto Show presented by SuperAmerica® will roll into the Minneapolis Convention Center March 10 - 18, 2018. The event, which is one of the top 15 auto shows in the country, is produced by the Greater Metropolitan Automobile Dealers Association of Minnesota, Inc. (GMADA).

The Twin Cities Auto Show will showcase approximately 600 vehicles from 36 domestic and imported brands. This year's display will be the largest in years featuring an estimated $21 million in new vehicles and exhibits.

Minnesota sells new trucks by a 3-1 margin to new sedans. This year's show will highlight this unique attraction to the truck market. A new indoor track called the Mitsubishi Minnesota Mile will make its world premiere at the annual Minnesota Show. It is an indoor test track based on our state's two seasons: winter and road construction. Guests will get to experience a Mitsubishi on potholes, icy roads, and travel through a maze of cones.

Sitting on the opposite end of the show floor is the ever-popular trail rated ride, Camp Jeep. The 30,000 square-foot Camp Jeep display is an interactive, off-road experience that features "Jeep Mountain" and several obstacles.

In addition, one of the Show entryways is called the "Ram Entrance" and features a collection of 2019 Dodge Rams.

"Minnesotans love their trucks," stated GMADA President Scott Lambert. "The Show is a reflection of what the Midwest is looking for in a vehicle."

The "Car of the Show" is the 2019 INFINITI QX50, a luxury mid-size crossover with world-first technologies, standout design and enhanced interior space, on an entirely new platform.

Another highlight of the Show will be the new Acceleration Alley featuring two Hurst Heritage performance vehicles built by GSS Supercars and the Lexus LC 500 Black Panther (used in the movie of the same name).

The Twin Cities Auto Show is produced by the Greater Metropolitan Automobile Dealers Association of Minnesota, Inc. (GMADA) The GMADA is an organization of 130 new car and truck franchised dealers in the Greater Minneapolis and St. Paul area. The 2018 GMADA Chair is Jeff Lupient, the GMADA President is Scott Lambert and the Auto Show Director is Mary Velline.
