California Teamsters To Speak At Capitol Hearing On Automation, Future Of Work
Assembly and Senate Committee Hearing to Address Technology, Workforce Issues
(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) - On Tuesday, March 20, Teamsters will take part in a special joint hearing of the California Assembly and Senate Labor Committees titled, "The Future of Work: How Technology and Automation Impacts Workers' Rights and Job Quality."
Doug Bloch, Political Director of Teamsters Joint Council 7, will speak at the hearing on automation in the workplace and its impact on workers. Teamsters Joint Council 7 represents more than 100,000 members in Northern California, the Central Valley and Northern Nevada.
In recent months, Bloch has testified before the Senate Transportation Committee and several Assembly committees on autonomous vehicles and related workforce issues.
Dozens of Teamsters from over 40 local unions throughout California will be in Sacramento and will attend the hearing.
