Frontier Networks Inc. and the Toronto Internet Exchange (TorIX) announce completion of joint expansion

TORONTO, May 29, 2018 /CNW/ - Frontier Networks Inc., (Frontier) a leading Canadian provider of network communication solutions, and The Toronto Internet Exchange Community (TorIX) a not-for-profit Internet Exchange Point (IXP) have completed a joint expansion of a Leaf Node in Frontier's 151 Front Street facility.

According to Luigi Calabrese, President, Frontier Networks Inc., this continues to be an exciting period of growth and expansion for Frontier. "TorIX is a vital part of our peering strategy and remains one of our most significant peering points. The decision of TorIX to expand into our data centre makes quality internet peering more accessible not only to Frontier's customers but also to potential customers that want access to peering in remote markets that can be extended through other lower cost Frontier connected data centre locations", says Calabrese.

"The exchange of Internet traffic at a neutral location is as important today as it was 20 years ago when TorIX first started interconnecting peers," said Vince Mammoliti, a long-standing board member at TorIX. "Internet Exchanges like TorIX play a vital role in the fabric of the Internet. Through the support of companies like Frontier we can extend reach to more peers, improving access, efficiencies and lowering costs."
