U-Haul Reveals Plans for New Self-Storage Facility in Wichita
WICHITA, Kan., July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul® will soon feature a new self-storage and moving facility in western Wichita thanks to its recent land acquisition at 600 S. Holland St. The 7.13-acre lot was acquired on April 13.
U-Haul Moving & Storage of West Wichita will serve as a full-service facility with truck and trailer sharing, towing equipment, self-storage, moving supplies, U-Box portable moving and self-storage containers, professional hitch installation, propane and more.
"It will be exciting when construction is completed and we can offer our state-of-the-art self-storage product," stated Aaron Krueger, U-Haul Company of Southern Kansas president. "Our dedicated network of U-Haul neighborhood dealers have been serving Wichita's west side since our other facility was closed several years ago. We are looking forward to bringing our high-level service back to this community."
U-Haul customers will have access to approximately 730 indoor climate-controlled self-storage units, and 110 outdoor drive-up units, when the project is completed in late 2019. Also available at the future three-story facility will be U-Haul Remote 24/7® access; RV/boat/vehicle storage; a U-Haul Re-Use center for gently used household goods and materials to be shared amongst the community; and the Take A Box, Leave A Box program.

While U-Haul Moving & Storage of West Wichita is under construction, nearby U-Haul facilities are available to assist customers. U-Haul at Westway, U-Haul Moving & Storage of McAdams Park and U-Haul Moving & Storage of Towne East are open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Saturday; 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

Krueger expects to hire a staff of 10 or more Team Members when the facility is fully operational. U-Haul will look to hire locally to promote job growth within the Wichita community. U-Haul always encourages local contractors to bid on construction work. Construction bidding ends July 18.
