USF Tampa Bay Technology Incubator Welcomes NeuX Technologies, Inc.

TAMPA, Fla., July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- NeuX Technologies, Inc. has joined the Tampa Bay Technology Incubator, part of USF CONNECT, at the University of South Florida.

NeuX Technologies is a medical technology, health and wellness company focused on developing solutions for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of chronic pain and musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.

President and CEO Scott Minniear discovered USF's incubation program at the Synapse Innovation Summit, which took place in Tampa Bay in late March.

"Helping entrepreneurs find the right resources means high-tech companies stay and grow in Florida. This partnership is one of many terrific examples of Synapse's mission to connect the innovation ecosystem," said Marc Blumenthal, co-founder of Synapse, a non-profit aimed at facilitating and exposing Florida's entrepreneurial ecosystem.

NeuX has developed Interactive Neuromuscular Stimulation (INS) technology, a non-pharmaceutical, non-invasive and non-addictive means for treating chronic pain and injuries.

"Pain affects more people in the U.S. than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined," said Minniear. "INS can successfully locate and treat the root cause of pain, which can be distant from where the pain is felt."

Though NeuX's primary focus is chronic pain, INS technology can be utilized to treat musculoskeletal injuries and muscle conditioning to improve human performance. "Fifty-four percent of all Americans suffer from musculoskeletal conditions," Minniear said. "This can result from repetitive motion, overuse, sports injuries, aging, disease and even poor posture."

NeuX has patent-pending technology and expects to roll-out its first device later this year.

"We are very excited to welcome NeuX Technologies into the TBTI program," said Valerie Landrio McDevitt, associate vice president for technology transfer and business partnerships. "Their goal to help people of all ages live a more active lifestyle, free of pain and injury through clinical studies and biomedical engineering research is an easy mission to get behind."
