Doors to Explore Inc. Selected as 2018 LEANLAB Education's K12 Fellow

SANDY HOOK, Conn., Aug. 07, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Doors to Explore Inc., a Sandy Hook, CT-based EdTech startup, today announced it has been selected by LEANLAB Education K12 Fellowship as one of six ventures to pilot innovative education solutions in Kansas City, MO, schools.

The LEANLAB Education accelerator program, spanning from August to November, embeds EdTech entrepreneurs in partner schools to work directly with teachers and students for usability and learning assessment. LEANLAB Education also provides a rigorous curriculum in education entrepreneurship for early-stage founders to prepare for investment. Doors to Explore enters as a member of LEANLAB Education's fifth cohort to work with coaches and mentors, a secondary school partner, and the business community in Kansas City, MO.

"Doors to Explore bridges the gap between employers and secondary students in a unique way," said Katie Boody, LEANLAB Education CEO and cofounder. "During the fellowship, their team will map the Missouri ecosystem while working with both academic and industry partners to showcase local career pathways. Increased awareness of in-demand CTE (Career and Technical Education) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) fields has tremendous value to employers, schools, and students in Kansas City."

"Employers are increasingly concerned about their talent pipelines and want to reach younger and younger students, and yet no employer has the bandwidth to support every career day at every school," said Kelley Johnson, Doors to Explore Founder and President. "Building a platform that appeals to secondary students and gives employers a chance to scale their career messaging can influence student decision-making earlier. Employers desire students to consider CTE and STEM pathways that meet next-generation hiring needs."

Doors to Explore enables employers to reach secondary students with CTE and STEM career messaging, while enabling students to discover academic pathways to regional employers. The platform features manufacturing, engineering and computing fields of study.
