Bob Hope USO Provides Entertainment and Thousands of Free Meals for Service Members at L.A. Fleet Week 2018

Bob Hope USO continues its annual tradition of providing entertainment and hospitality for service members as they sail into the Port of Los Angeles during Los Angeles Fleet Week this Labor Day weekend. Fleet Week is an annual multi-day celebration of our nation’s Seas Services held on the L.A. Waterfront at the Port of Los Angeles.

Bob Hope USO’s major partnership with L.A. Fleet Week is possible because of generous corporate and community sponsors including Delta Air Lines, the Madeline and Marvin Gussman Family Foundation, Keyes Automotive, Farmers & Merchants Bank, and the Bob and Dolores Hope Foundation.

Daily lunch is provided at the expeditionary USO center at the Port of LA, built just for Fleet Week, for particpating service members at no cost, thanks to community sponsors Kinecta Credit Union, Kroger, Chicago for Ribs, Pink’s Hot Dogs, Big Nick’s Pizza, Bob’s Big Boy, and Marie Callendar’s. Trader Joes, Yogurtland, and The Kind Company will also provide snacks and refreshments. Coffee will be provided by Starbucks, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, and Peet’s Coffee. Additionally, the San Pedro Fish Market invites service members to enjoy a Welcome Sailors dinner at the Fleet Week USO Wednesday evening.

In addition to some of the best food in L.A., Bob Hope USO, in partnership with Delta Air Lines, is helping underwrite entertainment on the Bob Hope USO Delta Air Lines Stage, including performances by The Beach Boys, country music star Brent Payne, the USO Show Troupe and more.

“As a founding partner of LA Fleet Week, it is truly an honor to continue our tradition of providing food and entertainment for our service members this Labor Day weekend,” said Bob Kurkjian, president of the Bob Hope USO. “It will be an exciting week of entertainment on the Bob Hope USO Delta Air Lines Stage as we celebrate the troops at what has become an amazing Southern California end of summer custom at the L.A. Waterfront.”

The public will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take guided tours of Navy and Coast Guard ships, honor the service men and women, and enjoy outstanding entertainment.

All events are subject to change without notice.
