BLUELEDGE Tackles Court Reporting Shortage

BlueLedge, a legal classroom, is a new Florida-based venture focused on online training for legal professionals. The company's mission is to address the need for qualified and highly trained individuals within the legal support industry.
The most pressing need for the legal industry is the requirement for "QUALITY" individuals to fill the increased demand to take sworn testimony. A significant gap exists between the forecasted supply and demand of court reporting professionals, which will only increase over the next five years. Court reporting calls for highly trained specialists who are knowledgeable of the legal system and the permissible structures within which lawyers and courts require their transcripts to be presented.
As a launch point, BlueLedge has acquired the rights to a digital court reporting and transcribing curriculum from Wendy Ponka of International Institute for Transcribers and Court Reporters (IITCR), and has taken over the education and training of current students, as well as welcoming new students interested in joining this growing legal profession. In the coming months, BlueLedge will expand to include content for other legal professionals such as lawyers, paralegals and legal videographers.
BlueLedge has partnered with the American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT) and has been approved as a provider to educate and train students to take their Certified Electronic Reporter (CER) and Certified Electronic Transcriptionist (CET) examinations. AAERT is celebrating its 25th year after being founded in 1994. According to AAERT, electronic reporters for decades have been successfully reporting in federal, state and local jurisdictions.
