Allied Pain & Spine Institute Hires New Specialists to Support a Multidisciplinary Approach to Chronic Pain Management

To support this multidisciplinary approach to chronic pain management, Allied Pain & Spine Institute has hired three new specialists, including two clinical psychologists Dr. Margarita Abramov and Dr. Chinonyere Bello as well as a Maryam Kalami, a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. The new staff members bring unrivaled expertise and training in their respective fields and have a keen understanding of how their specialties can help patients with chronic pain.

Dr. Margarita Abramov is a clinical psychologist who has worked in the medical field for 25 years. She understands the mental health issues and emotional distress that can develop as a result of chronic pain. Dr. Abramov is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a trained pain psychologist. Under her care, patients can learn a variety of relaxation techniques and creative coping strategies to manage their pain without the reliance on opioids. Dr. Abramov is also a member of the American Psychological Association and International Association of Trauma Professionals.

Dr. Chinonyere "Noni" Bello is also a licensed clinical psychologist. She received extensive training in neuropsychological assessment at the University of California, Los Angeles. Like Dr. Abramov, Dr. Bello also realizes the close relationship between cognitive health and chronic pain management and is certified to provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and applies this theory as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles in the treatment of chronic pain patients.

The third new hire for Allied Pain & Spine Institute is Maryam Kalami, who is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) and Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is licensed as an Acupuncturist and an Herbalist by the Medical Board of California. Kalami brings various acupuncture specializations, including Sports Medicine, Pain Management, Fertility, Cosmetic Acupuncture and Medical Qi Gong.
