Snowbound Leverages Alfresco's New ADF Platform To Make HTML5 Viewing Fast & Easy

WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Snowbound Software, the market leader in document viewing technology, today announced its new integration of VirtualViewer® HTML5 for Alfresco Content Services (ACS), built with Angular technology on the Application Development Framework (ADF). Snowbound has been an official Alfresco Technology Partner since 2014, providing users with a faster and more robust document viewing solution than the default PDF.js viewer.

"Compared to prior technologies, Angular and ADF provide us with a more flexible framework to cleanly and modularly integrate VirtualViewer HTML5 with Alfresco and extend users' document viewing capabilities," said Snowbound's Lead Programmer Sean Graham.

The Alfresco Application Development Framework is a modern JavaScript-based framework. It provides a rich set of reusable Angular based UI components and services, command-line tooling and JavaScript APIs that make it easy for developers to create responsive web applications that can be deployed and embedded on top of the platform.

"We are thrilled that partners have embraced and are leveraging Alfresco's ADF, as it enables fast, cost-effective and frictionless deployment of highly customized applications for the enterprise," said Darren Yetzer, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Alfresco, "It is great to see Snowbound using it to enhance their solutions to deliver more customer value."

Snowbound's new connector for Alfresco allows the powerful HTML5 document viewer to be embedded directly into Alfresco Content Services, making it simple for users to manage their workflow with sophisticated tools such as split and merge, annotate and redact, and document comparison.

"Alfresco and Snowbound are both dedicated to innovation and continually enhancing the solutions we provide our customers," said Jean-Baptiste Ronfard, Snowbound's Business Development Manager for the Alfresco Channel. "Thanks to ADF and Angular technology, VirtualViewer can be quickly integrated into the entire Alfresco Digital Business Platform, including ACS, Alfresco Process Services, and Alfresco Government Services, providing users with a robust set of document viewing tools not found in the default viewer."

Snowbound works with a variety of Alfresco partners and system integrators around the globe, including Zia, Tenthline, Perficient, Crest, and Armedia.

VirtualViewer® HTML5 for Alfresco Content Services will be showcased in Alfresco's booth (#330) at the AWS re:Invent Conference in Las Vegas, Nov. 26-30. Alfresco's booth is located in The Quad area inside the ARIA hotel.
