Devo Technology Accelerates Investment in Cybersecurity with New Business Unit, Major Hires

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Dec. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Devo Technology, the data operations company, is building on its success delivering cybersecurity solutions to Fortune 2000 companies with the addition of three security executives to its employee roster. The company today announced the appointment of Julian Waits as General Manager of the Devo Security Business Unit. Joining Waits are Matt Mosley, Vice President of Products, Cybersecurity and Fred Wilmot, VP of Security Engineering. Combined, the trio has been involved in nearly every aspect of cybersecurity, from running large-scale security operations teams to building some of the most advanced cybersecurity solutions in the world.

Julian Waits, a recognized thought leader and expert in the security industry, joins Devo from SAIFE, a provider of software-defined perimeter technology, where he served as President and CEO. Previously, he was President and CEO of PivotPoint Risk Analytics, President and CEO of ThreatTrack Security, and General Manager of the Security Business Unit of GFI Software. Waits is an Advisory Board member of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP).

Matt Mosley joins Devo from Symantec, where he served as Director of Product Management for Symantec's MSSP business. Prior to Symantec, Mosley held senior leadership roles with leading security firms including NetIQ, Internet Security Systems, Intellitactics, and Brabeion Software. A founding member of the ISP Security Consortium, he also teaches CISSP classes for ISSA-NOVA and mentors young security professionals and entrepreneurs, helping to create the next generation of cyber professionals.

Fred Wilmot joins Devo from PacketSled, where as CTO he built and managed a cloud platform for digital forensics and incident response. He has held senior positions with major brands including Symantec, Disney, T-Mobile, IBM and Splunk. At Splunk, he founded the global security practice, where he was responsible for product innovation and service delivery for the Enterprise Security product. Wilmot contributes regularly to industry research and the cybersecurity community with his involvement in AMCyber, Texas Cyber Summit, DEFCON and B-sides events.
