Tianna Flores Of Hellas Construction Becomes First Woman To Achieve Certified Builder In Three Categories

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Tianna Flores, Vice President of Design Build for Hellas Construction, passed her Certified Tennis Court Builders Exam in early December at the American Sports Builders' Association (ASBA) Technical Meeting, making her the first woman in the industry holding all three certifications for Synthetic-Field, Track and Tennis Court Building.

Flores started at an entry level position with Hellas Construction in 2010 and has since worked her way up in the organization while continuing to educate herself and take on more responsibilities. Tianna received her BS in Industrial and Construction Technology from Texas State University in San Marcos, while working full time at Hellas. "Our people are our most important assets at Hellas, and Flores exemplifies what makes our company great: the drive and dedication to always improve," said Reed J. Seaton, President and CEO of Hellas Construction.

To earn ASBA certification candidates are required to have a certain amount of experience on specific types of construction projects in each area. The certification requires a four-hour comprehensive exam on construction, surfacing, design, administration, and renovation. "Without my experience at Hellas, there is no way I could have passed the tests," Flores said. She attributes her success to the great amount of knowledge and support management and staff at Hellas has shared with her.

The ASBA certification programs were developed to help raise professional standards and to improve the practice of sports construction. It assists the general public in evaluating experience and expertise and distinguishes those who have met a designated level of experience and demonstrated amount of knowledge.
