US Experts to Teach Workshop on Remote Neurofeedback Training with Epilepsy and Other Chronic Illnesses at the BFE 20th Meeting in Cardiff, Wales

LONDON, Feb. 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In this one-day workshop "Using Remote Neurofeedback with Epilepsy and Other Chronic Illnesses" at the BFE 20th Meeting in Cardiff, Linda Walker, MHR, LPC, BCN, BCB will demonstrate how individuals with chronic illness, such as epilepsy, can use neurofeedback as a tool to optimize and improve their brain function. However, fatigue, health, distance or resources might make attending twice weekly office-based therapy sessions unrealistic. Home training fills that gap, but it depends on accurate assessment, preparing the trainee and family for success, and helping the trainee access technology.

Linda will be joined by Jay Gunkelman via Skype, who will share the case studies of several young trainees who used remote neurofeedback training to help them lead more normal lives and pursue goals their illness had rendered improbable. One of the case studies - first presented at the 2018 Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB) in Orlando, Florida - tells the compelling story of a seven year old girl with epilepsy and her experience with neurofeedback. The full case presentation is available online.
