"This year's gathering will be especially powerful as we show customers how to use the MariaDB Platform to break free from the conventional ways of architecting and operating transactions, analytics and cloud deployments to realize business success and a greater return on the database investment," said Franz Aman, Chief Marketing Officer, MariaDB Corporation. "Some of the world's largest enterprises will discuss how MariaDB is letting them do more with their data. Those that are ready to escape the old ways of proprietary database thinking will be inspired by the real-world examples their peers are sharing at MariaDB OpenWorks."

"MariaDB is challenging the status quo in remarkable ways and it's exciting to be among these agents of change at OpenWorks," said William Wood, Director of Database Architecture, Financial Network, Inc. "Last year's conference speakers and workshops were excellent. I'm looking forward to this year's lineup. If you are in the database game MariaDB OpenWorks is the place to be."

Hands-on Workshops
New at OpenWorks this year is a full day of hands-on workshops on Monday, February 25. Seasoned database professionals will lead participatory experiences covering the hottest database topics, including Oracle migration; analytics; containers; and MariaDB certification, for those preparing to take the MariaDB Certified Database Administrator Associate Exam.

Get Certified
The MariaDB Certified Database Administrator Associate Exam is offered only at MariaDB OpenWorks and at no additional cost to attendees. Successful completion of the exam documents a proficiency in performing associate-level MariaDB tasks, including configuration, tuning and troubleshooting MariaDB databases. For those that do not complete the exam on February 25 following the preparation workshop, there will be multiple opportunities throughout the remainder of the conference.

Over 60 Sessions Across Five Tracks
This year, MariaDB OpenWorks adds 20 more informative sessions to the previous years' schedule. MariaDB customers, including Samsung's Lead Database Architect Kwangbock Lee, QBerg's CTO Germán Castro Pérez, Walgreen's Technical Architect-Digital Engineering Jasbir Sokhey, Alibaba Cloud Staff Database Engineer Jianwei Zhang and more, will show how they implemented MariaDB to meet and exceed business objectives and solve challenges.

Additionally, MariaDB and third-party experts will lead informative sessions on popular subjects, such as database migration, containerization and scalability; analytics; application development and microservices in Java, .NET and Node.js; and will offer a sneak peek at what's coming from MariaDB, including database-as-a-service (DBaaS) and machine learning.

"At OpenWorks we're going to show how MariaDB allows Quotient to deliver over 6,700 coupons per minute on behalf of the largest consumer brands around," said Arun Subramanian, Director of Customer Success at Quotient. "MariaDB's ability to support myriad payload scenarios, easily span multiple data centers and keep retailer data secure is critical to our modern offer management system. I want my peers at OpenWorks to know these are the mission-critical capabilities you get with MariaDB. You don't have to go through the proprietary vendors that drain your budget and limit your options. There is a better way."
