ASM International Announces IMAT 2020 Twelve Key Topics
MATERIALS PARK, Ohio, March 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Beginning in 2017, ASM International recognized the industry need for a technical program reminiscent of the historical ASM Materials Week Conference. Last year, ASM announced its first annual International Materials Applications & Technologies Conference & Exhibition (IMAT), to be held in Cleveland, OH, September 14-17, 2020. Today, ASM is proud to share key topics to be showcased during this momentous event, which in turn be the permanent stage for ASM's Annual Meeting.
Heavily involved in building the technical symposiums is a diverse group of materials experts, including the ASM Programming Committees, AeroMat Committee, and all six of ASM's Affiliate Societies. The symposiums will have a strong focus on application-oriented, real-world technologies in areas of discipline such as, aerospace, automotive, defense, electronic, structural and biomedical. IMAT will have a global reach to more than 30 countries, featuring a program inclusive of traditional valuable topics, but also economic, environmental, and emerging market trends at the leading-edge confluence of industry, academia, and government.
Key Topics Include:
-- Sustainable Materials and Processes -- Metals, Ceramics, Coatings and Composites -- Metallography -- Energy & Utilities -- Materials and Processes for Automation -- Additive Manufacturing -- Failure Analysis -- Processing and Applications -- Materials Behavior & Characterization -- Joining of Advance and Specialty Materials -- Materials 4.0: Materials Information in the Product Life Cycle -- Medical / Bio Materials
"IMAT 2020 will be an intensive, comprehensive and integral event signaling the culmination of the ASM Renewal and transition to ASM's Realization," stated ASM CEO, Bill Mahoney. "We sincerely thank our volunteer governance and technology thought leadership for their overwhelming support and contributions in forming this extraordinary event."
The call for papers will be released in early fall 2019. Additionally, special programming will be announced from industry partners, including IMS/WMF, Ceramic Industry, and NACE International. IMAT is positioned to be the place for leading materials science individuals and organizations to come together and proactively address global materials challenges.
