Award-Winning Video Surveillance Software, Orchid VMS Launches New Features

NORFOLK, Va., March 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In further development of its award winning software, IPConfigure, a video surveillance software company headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, released Orchid Fusion VMS 2.6.0. Known for its ease of use and scalable architecture, Orchid Fusion Video Management Software (VMS) has been deployed by customers ranging from small, single-site businesses to some of the world's largest retailers. The latest release is designed to give more control to end users and allow them to proactively manage surveillance systems with customizable alerts and notifications.

Within the new Notifications feature, users have the ability to create automatic email alerts that will be sent when an Orchid Core VMS server becomes unavailable, a camera goes offline or when an Orchid Core VMS server's storage has an error. These intuitive alerts are customizable and can be defined for specific servers or cameras, and may be sent to assigned users, groups or outside email addresses.

Administrators can identify specific offline and online thresholds to prevent duplicate or inaccurate alerts. By being able to set these guidelines, end users can avoid wasting time and resources on false alarms.

In addition to real-time alerts, a daily digest email alert can also be configured that provides a summary of the entire day's alert activity. Even if zero alerts were generated that day, assigned users will still receive an email confirming that no events occurred, providing affirmation that the Notification system is working.

Orchid Fusion VMS 2.6.0 also includes enhancements to previously released features, including:

-- Pinch-zoom support for digital PTZ
    -- ONVIF presets
-- MKV video export on iOS devices

The Notifications feature is being added to an already distinctive product portfolio. Orchid Fusion VMS is a completely web browser based solution which enables the management of unlimited cameras, locations and users from a single interface, on any device. It is also designed to support both Linux and Windows operating systems, making it one of the only VMS solutions compliant with diverse IT policies across industries including commercial, education, and law enforcement customers.

Details of all features are available in the full release notes. For more information on Orchid Fusion VMS visit IPConfigure's product page or download a trial.
