Gainesville Country Club Announces Inaugural Concours d'Elegance

GAINESVILLE, Fla., April 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Gainesville Country Club announced today the Inaugural Gainesville Country Club Concours d'Elegance, the newest Concours in North America, will take place on April 26(th), 27(th) and 28(th) at the Gainesville Country Club grounds in Gainesville, Florida. The event will be chaired by Eric Godet, CEO and President of the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce.

"We are excited about this prestigious event and that Eric has agreed to join us as our Chair for the Inaugural Concours d'Elegance," said Erin Henderson, Assistant General Manager of the Gainesville Country Club. "This event will bring car enthusiasts from across the region to support our designated charity partners and help continue to grow our economic development efforts through tourism related activities. There isn't a better place to feature some of the finest cars in the world than at the Gainesville Country Club," added Miss Henderson.

"I am honored to Chair Gainesville's first Concours d'Elegance," said Eric Godet. "This will be a premiere event for Gainesville and the entire region each year, allowing us to highlight all that Greater Gainesville has to offer, while bringing the community together to experience the beauty and history of the automotive industry and to raise funds for well deserving charitable organizations and programs."

In collaboration with the Cade Museum, this year will include part of the rare Studebaker collection once owned by Dr. Robert Cade, the inventor of Gatorade. Additionally, there will be collectable and rare Lamborghinis, Porsches, Ferraris, Bentleys, Aston Martins, and American muscle cars, among others.

The Gainesville Country Club has designated three charitable causes as recipients of part of the proceeds from the event: the Giovanni Linscheer Scholarship Fund, the Sandhill Stables Thoroughbred Rescue Foundation and the Child Advocacy Center of Gainesville. The three-day event will kick-off with a concert on Friday evening, a charitable Gala on Saturday and culminate with the Concours d'Elegance on Sunday afternoon, where the champion will be crowned. There are a limited number of VIP tickets which include early entry to the Concours, access to all the events as well as additional gifts and memorabilia.
