Bill Nye Celebrates New Multimillion Dollar Stem Facility at American Heritage School
DELRAY BEACH, Fla., April 12, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- American Heritage School is consistently one of the top high schools in the state and nation in scientific research and robotics competitions and recently hosted the grand opening of a new $8 million building for their stem-based programs that promote science research, pre-engineering, pre-medical, and robotics.
Bill Nye "The Science Guy" was on hand at American Heritage School in Boca Raton, Florida for the special celebration and spent the entire day on the school's campus to first cut the ceremonial red ribbon, then tour the new building and visit a Pre-Engineering class, AP Chemistry, the working science lab, and the robotics practice field under a tent behind the building. He also gave a keynote address, emphasizing to the students specifically, how their perspective of life will change as they get older. "What we want to do is make every day as good as it can be," Bill Nye said, "and when you're here in school, you may have noticed some challenging days, but the best is yet ahead so don't worry about what you're going to do in life, that will just happen. The school's new two-story, 12,000-square foot facility is a science utopia that houses an electron microscope, university-level science research labs, robotics and prototyping labs, and engineering and physics classrooms, as well as a pre-engineering program with classes taught daily by top engineers throughout the community.
