“Working in and around electrical systems is inherently dangerous and potentially fatal,” said Sean Silvey, product specialist – electrical tools at Fluke. “We build a tremendous number of safety features into all of our tools, but we know there’s a human factor as well. We want people to come home safe to their families and friends every day, so it is a top priority for us to give them information to do their job as safely as possible. We are proud that so many people and organizations rely on our expert content to train their teams on electrical safety.”

To help people better understand the risks inherent in electrical systems and how to avoid making potentially dangerous mistakes, Fluke has created nearly 100 pieces of content on safety in the workplace. Core to the Fluke curriculum is the “Electrical measurement safety online course.” This free, four-hour self-paced course covers:

  • Why and how shock, electrocution, arc flash and arc blast present risks;
  • Safe work practices and correct personal protective equipment (PPE);
  • Test tool standards and ratings;
  • Inspecting and testing your test equipment;
  • Best practices for a safer environment;
  • Practical tools and tips to extend your safety; and
  • Implementing a test tool training program.

In addition to training, Fluke offers updates on new technology and tools as well as new and updated content to reflect last year’s changes to the National Fire Protection Association’s NFPA 70E Safety Standards, including:

Fluke also offers live and on-demand webinars on a variety of topics, such as “Understanding earth grounding and measurement techniques,” “Using a multifunction tester to validate electrical installations,” and “Understanding measurements you can make with your DMM and clamp.”
